Is Capital.Energy certified by the PUCO?

Yes. Capital.Energy is a Certified Retail Electric Service (CRES) Provider with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO). Capital.Energy also holds an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau as well.

Does the electricity price depend on how much electricity I use or when I use it?

No. With our fixed pricing contracts, you will pay the same price per kWh regardless of when or how much energy you use.

What happens when my energy contract expires?

Capital.Energy’s Customer Support Guarantee means that we will reach out to you up to three times to let you know your contract with us is coming to an end. We will reach out to you well in advance of your contract expiration date, giving you the choice to extend your contract at our current low rate, so that you can continue to price protect your energy costs. If you choose not to extend your contract, you will begin paying a competitive variable rate for your electricity that fluctuates with the energy market, the contract will automatically renew on a monthly basis on a variable price plan. If you chose not to renew with Capital.Energy you will be switched back to the utility and pay a variable rate. For more details, please refer to the terms and conditions on your agreement.

Do you charge any cancellation fees?

Yes. In order to keep our electricity pricing as low as possible, and provide our clients with choices, we do charge small cancellation fees if you choose to cancel before your contract expires. For Small Commercial Clients, the cancellation fee is $10 per month for the remainder of your contract. For Large Commercial Clients, it is based on market movement and usage.

Will there be switching or membership fees if I switch to Capital.Energy?

No. We do not charge switching, membership, or any other fees. If the utility assesses a switching fee will absorb that cost for you.

What if I pay my bill late?

We do charge late fees and potentially require deposits.

Does Capital.Energy require a deposit?

Capital.Energy rarely charges clients a deposit. However, for clients with payment issues a small deposit may be required.

Will I receive one or two bills each month?

You will continue to receive just one bill from your local electric utility. Your charges from us will be reflected on this bill and the utility is responsible for sending us our portion.
